How to Check SSUP Update Status at ssup.uidai.gov.in

Users can update or change or correct their aadhar data online. The system services as a self-service portal for the aadhar card holders. SSUP is a UIDAI Self Service Update Portal. Here, you can change and correct your aadhar card details in few seconds. After online correction, the corrected aadhar card will be sent to your address. Well, what if you have still not received the updated aadhar card even after the online update. Check the SSUP status online.
This post shows you how to use SSUP update portal to make corrections in your aadhar. After submission of the application for the aadhar card correction, you can also check status. It shows you if the corrections are processed or no. Though you can submit an application for correction online, you need to send the documents. Self Aadhar Card Update Status Online
Here is a procedure for SSUP status check online. After making necessary changes and sending documents by post, you can check status.
- Visit the official Self Service UIDAI Portal page.
- Enter your aadhar card number in the first box.
- Also, enter the URN number in the next field.
- URN number is your update request number. It is generated online after you submit a request for correction.
- Enter the security code.
- Click the ‘Get Status’ tab.
You will now see the current position of your updated aadhar. It will show if your application for correction is rejected or under process. If any document is required to process your SSUP update request, it will be informed here.
You can check your SSUP status only if your mobile number is registered in the aadhar. It is mandatory to provide a mobile number with SSUP update request. You will be notified on your mobile by SMS about the process of your aadhar correction.
SSUP Update Status Messages
Once you check SSUP update status using above procedure, you will get following messages.
- Under Review or Under Process
You need to worry only if the SSUP update request is rejected.
Generally, the request for correction is rejected due to following reasons.
Reasons for SSUP Update Rejection
- The wrong document is uploaded for proof of identity
- Copies of documents sent are not self-attested
- Supporting documents are not self-attested
- Uploaded documents are not found matching with the original documents
- Mobile and aadhar no. are incorrect
- Supporting documents are not in your name.
- Errors in filling the request form.
In such case, you can file a fresh request. Fill up a new SSUP update request form. If you are applying for update offline, you cannot check the SSUP status online.
What Details You can Update at Aadhar Self Service Portal
Not every detail in your UID can be updated online. The self-service update portal allows aadhar card holders to correct or update following details.
- Date of Birth
- Mobile Number
- Email address
You need to send the documents that support the required corrections.
Aadhar Card Update By Post
Users can also send an update request manually. First of all, download the aadhar card correction form from the website of uidai.gov.in. Fill up the form and send it to any of the following address with the supporting documents.
